Innovations in Wireless EV Charging

Innovations include an above-the-vehicle approach to wireless EV charging, along with bidirectional wireless charging, and after-market wireless charging applications.

No hassle wireless EV charging

No need for cables or chords connected to a floor-based wireless charging pad. Just park your electric vehicle and let it charge automatically from above.

With the QKOIL wireless charging system properly integrated into a vehicle, there is no need for a driver to ever plug in their vehicle. The driver simply parks as usual below the QCOIL charging device mounted from a garage ceiling or car port.

The receiver or inductive charging pad can be discretely mounted on the roof of an EV during manufacturing of the EV, or installed in an after-market application.

Bidirectional Charging

Bidirectional Wireless Charging

Wireless charging of electric vehicles is achieved with inductive coupling, which involves the transfer of power magnetically rather than by direct electrical contact.

With bidirectional charging, electricity can flow from the electrical utility grid to charge the EV, or it can flow from the EV back into the grid or into a building, a home or an electrical appliance.

The QKOIL system can provide for bidirectional inductive charging through the use of a simple circuit that reduces the number of switches and diodes for the inductive charging system, and which regulates current flow in the battery during the charging and discharging phase.
